It's been awhile, I know! I forgot about setting this account up until I decided I really want to try to have one place where I keep my thoughts. I reread my first post and have decided that I am going to try my darndest to update this more frequently. Shouldn't be hard since it's been over 8 months since my first and only post thus far.
Another day at home. Out beloved Beagle Tiki was put to rest today after a night full of twitches and shakes. I couldn't sleep all night. Matthew slept down on the floor by her side the whole night.
Matthew has had Tiki for many, many years (she was 17 years old). She was there while he went through some of the hardest years of his life, along with Zna a Black Lab (pictured left) and Czar a Lab/Pittbull mix). Last year, about this time, we had to put Czar down due to a paralization in his hips. I have known from that experience how hard it would be when we lost Tiki. For some reason though, you never seem prepared. These dogs are like children to Matthew. They have been there for him in his most trying and lonely moments and as hard as it is for me, I can't imagine how hard it is for Matthew.
I love him so much and loved Tiki too. She was adored by our children. She will be greatly missed.
